2011 NTBA T-Bucket Nationals, Dayton, Ohio June 23-25, 2011

Mark your calendar for next summer’s big T-Bucket event, June 23-25, 2011: the 13th Annual National T-Bucket Alliance (NTBA) T-Bucket Nationals in Dayton, Ohio.

The event will be headquartered at the Dayton Marriott, 1414 South Patterson Boulevard, Dayton, OH.

Over the years, I’ve attended many NTBA Nationals events and highly recommend them. If you’re a T-Bucket owner who’d like to meet more of the T-Bucket brethren or, if you’re interested in building or buying a T-Bucket, there is absolutely no better, more economic way to totally immerse yourself in the largest number and widest range of T-Buckets you can possibly see. You’d have to spend more than a whole summer of car shows to see the sheer volume and variety of T-Buckets you will see in one place at this event. Your camera and notebook are guaranteed to get a workout — plus, you have an opportunity to personally ask questions of the owners! It just doesn’t get any better.

In my opinion, the 2011 NTBA event has all the ingredients to be a record breaker. I’ve stayed at this particular Marriott in the past and it’s a great hotel and location. More importantly, Dayton is an easy to get to, central location that is within comfortable driving distance from a huge population base: ranging from Chicago to St. Louis to Memphis to Charlotte to Pittsburgh to Buffalo to Toronto to Milwaukee and everywhere in the vast in-between.

While the officially announced start date is June 23, if you’re ready to take in a week of total T-Bucket immersion, events start as early as June 20 and you can see the early event outline at the NTBA website.

I’m making my plans and hope to see you there.

  3. Here’s the update from the NTBA clarifying what the situation is for participation in the event by nonmembers:

“You can join the NTBA for $35.00 and this includes a free members T-shirt, full access to web site and your entry to the 2011 Nationals. Once you become a member your total cash outlay not counting food, gas or lodging for every place we go as a group from 6/20 to 6/25 will be less than $20.00 dollars each for the entire week, with most of the admissions free. People will be admitted free to the show and shine on Saturday, but all show cars must belong to members (Insurance Regulations). If you stay at the Marriott as a member you will receive a special room rate and 20 percent off food purchased there, if you reserve your room in advance.”

This comes from the NTBA member who’s heading up the event. By the way, the $35 NTBA membership also includes a T-shirt and window sticker.

    • Hi Hillary,
      That’s a good question.
I’ve copied the preliminary schedule from the NTBA website and right now the only public inclusive event seems to be the show and shine on Saturday. I’ll look into it further and try to post an update that will hopefully clarify what is or isn’t members only.

  5. Thanks Cecil, By all indications, given the great location, this should be the biggest T-Bucket Nationals yet. –> I would personally like to invite Mr. Jim Street to attend and to bring his LEGENDARY T-Bucket. There have been plenty of very nice Kookie clones built and Jim should be proud of what he has created. It would be the most exciting T-Bucket appearance of the past 50 years! Hope to see you all there.
