Those tail lights are likely something scratch built from brass, chrome plated and the tail light cut from red acrylic (plexiglass) sheet. Plexiglass lenses were somewhat of a common custom trick from the 1950’s on. Rod & Custom, Hot Rod and others ran how to build articles.

This T-Bucket was also my brothers inspiration for the bucket I helped him with at age 13. 20 years later I duplicated it in my shop and several pictures of this flathead recreation are in my book. Not satisfied with that I built a better one with a chevy V-8 and documented every single step in my legendary ‘How to build a T-Bucket roadster for under $3000’. which I sold to Motorbooks Int. They butchered the book deleting over 100 pages of vital information and most of the pictures. 20 years later I got together with John Morehead and we reproduced the book in its original form which you can buy today at its original 1986 price on Hot Rod Plans.com
